Modern flat on Regent’s Canal, London

I confess that Airbnb makes my life easier and easier when I have/want to spend only a couple of days in London. Those days of staying in some bog-standard hotel rooms in the central buzzing part of the city were over. I like my accommodation practical, modern and with a wow factor.

Now it’s more like “finding a stylish apartment in wherever zone you want to stay”. And that was exactly how I found this gorgeous modern flat with a view of the Regent’s Canal. Perfect for a couple looking forward to having a bank holiday weekend in “The Old Smoke”.

If the place is nearby a train station, things can be better than expected. And this location is really nearby central London.

Despite being a one-bedroom apartment, it’s very spacious. It accommodates a couple perfectly. And it doesn’t mean both will be struggling for space. Everything room has its own cabinets and wardrobes that keep the ambient clean and comfy without unnecessary clutter.

And because it’s somebody else’s home, this is certainly an accommodation with personality. I actually love the concept and style of Janis’ apartment. It’s bright, airy, and stylish.

It’s an environmentally friendly flat where you can find some useful tips about being more conscious of our planet. From books to eco-friendly and organic products, I left the place aware that less is always more.

By the way, I just loved the goodies left for us. Organic milk chocolate, tea, fruits, and wine are in the fridge. The well-equipped kitchen was appreciated as well. It has everything we could need in bed and breakfast.

The view of Regent’s canal from its balcony is really inspiring. It’s great to see how Londoners use their time to do a bit of exercise on their way home from work or check the canal boats around. We made the most of it enjoying the pleasant weather with a “meal outside” as well.

A gorgeous rustic wooden table placed in the kitchen is also an invitation to have a meal with a view or simply have some work done. I guess it’s somewhere you want to linger.

And it fits perfectly the minimalist and cosy décor of the place. It actually ticks all the boxes of a gracious and spacious flat.

A very comfy bed was everything I needed after a flight back from my trip to Croatia and all the tiring customs duties we had to go through at Gatwick airport.

There is plenty of light coming from outside the big windows in the flat. A good reason to appreciate the nice window view from its 7th floor.

If you like the London skyline, it’s possible to recognise some famous buildings as well as to check the Olympic Park a bit closer.

The flat is located between Bethnal Green and Mile End tube stations and it is just a bus ride from Shoreditch. It made my usual sightseeing in London much easier as well. And we walked around to find out more about the area itself.

Bethnal Green is fulfilled with new apartments like this one and the area is getting packed with quirky bars and cosy cafes that really worth a visit. It has green all around in Bethnal Green.

I would recommend you to pop to The Sun Tavern and find out the most beautiful cocktails in the area. This bar is a gem and a great way of exploring what Bethnal Green has to offer at night. Another great place spotted this trip was Carioca Brixton (click to read the food review), a beautiful Brazilian restaurant.

We even managed to find a “parking space” for 30 pounds charged for the four nights spent in London town. Let’s be honest, it is a bargain. Visit justparcking for more details.

And the good news, there are plenty of people putting their spare garage available for rental these days. Just perfect for those keen on driving “to” London but not driving “in” London.

What else? We found the grocery shops that were handy. We loved visiting the Mile End Ecology park the eco-park  just some minutes walking from the flat. And we never visited the pub nearby (right in front of the building when you cross the canal bridge) so we definitely would come back for more (staying and enjoying) in this place.

Have a quick peep at the flat:
