The largest country park outside Birmingham: It’s one of my favourite green spaces in the whole Midlands. A huge park to be explored walking, cycling or even sailing! There is so much to be seen at Kingsbury Water Park that it is worth more than one visit, especially now in the summer.
Walking through the area is the best way to experience the nature reserves; from bird species to its several pools, everything is so inviting there.
As Kingsbury Water Park is the largest one at Warwickshire, the best thing to do is to get a map from the information centre to explore the area better. It’s usually very cheap. I have paid 50 p for a very useful one. The map has some tips that can help you to find the best paths for visitors.
For cycling lovers, it’s a perfect site to explore its 600 acres of Country Park. Bicycle hire is available as well.
If you fancy some adrenaline boosting there is a list of sport activities to be done; sailing, powerboat racing, model boating or even jet skiing are some good examples.
Fishing and birds watching are also other very popular activities in Kingsbury Water Park. It’s actually home to one of the most diverse fisheries in Midlands, where you can find over 200 species of birds.
Kids will certainly enjoy having so much space to play – they can visit a beautiful farm, cycle or even go for a ride in the mini trains of Echills Wood Railway. There is a lovely steam train journey on a 2 km track through the park itself.
There is so much to do, see and explore at Kingsbury Water Park but nature is certainly what moves us to visit this site. Its natural pools – there are seven pools and 15 lakes there- together with leisure centres, café and green areas is certainly one of the many reasons to spend a day in this wonderful site.
