Believe it or not, I have worked as a watch repairer some years ago, and if there was something I learned with this job, was appreciating the delicate and precise performance of a quality watch.
There are lots of steps to this kind of job. You need to understand the watch parts and how to clean the minuscule parts of the watch. You also have to deal with different tools from a watchmaker screwdriver to watch cleaning tanks. It’s complex, but a quite relaxing kind of job.
Being a watching repairer for nearly three years also helped me to be pickier when choosing the best designs and more stylish ones. I do like watches. And of course, I was pretty happy to have the chance of reviewing Nordgreen Native Scandinavian Silver Unisex Analogue watch this month. So, here we go with a comprehensive review of the watch and brand.

The brand
To start with, I loved Nordgreen’s business concept. A Danish company founded by two lifelong friends and watch enthusiasts, Pascar and Vasilij. The business idea was to produce affordable and stylish watches with sustainable values- all in the Scandinavian way.
The watch
I confess that I liked what I saw as soon I have opened the box. Nordgreen captures what I like most about Scandinavian designs in general, its minimalism and creative craft-work. I’m a big fan.
Is it worth it?
My first challenge was wearing this watch abroad, passing throw three different cities in less than 24 hours.
I liked the classic design and the fact that it’s not a bulky watch. Its wide-based face makes it easier to check the time, especially when in a dark spot like aeroplane environment at night, for example. It’s also comfortable to wear, so I kept it in my wrist during the whole journey.
But the interchangeable leather strap is my favourite thing about this design. It is easy to manage and keep clean when customising my watch. I will definitely change its straps periodically. So far, so good.
I do love this watch and the Danish design just got my heart. It’s simple and effective. Just the way watches should be seen. So far, so good!
I was sure that the Scandinavian style wouldn’t disappoint me, anyway. Nordgreen is offering affordable and stylish watches since 2017. As a start-up that believe also involved in a series of sustainable projects, it deserves all kudos for just putting a quality product such this together.
