Reusable Bamboo Cotton Pads | EcoPanda Review

We just experienced the Global Climate Strikes all over the world, when our prodigy activist Greta Thunberg was the responsible for the beginning of a big revolution, and the message is clear: There is a crisis out there and we need to act now!

I also understand that an Eco-friendly lifestyle is the minimum that we can do to start our own revolution at home. It’s a small change, but it’s still a big start.

Zero waste essentials are here to stay. There are no more excuses to choose more environmental products. If you have to consume something, it’s better to go for something biodegradable ones.

EcoPanda has the mission of increasing community awareness. Zero-waste lifestyle is a life as a rule: to throw away as little as possible and use the reusable products as much as possible.

When we choose a biodegradable product, we are helping to reduce more than 4.9 billion plastic that are thrown away every year and end up in the ocean and landfills. It’s a hell of a change!

I was pretty happy to be contacted by EcoPanda to review their Reusable Bamboo Cotton pads this month.

Skincare is a big deal for me, but I do confess that we do need to substitute some products, and wool pads is one of them. Thing about the low impact a product like this is possible to achieve. It’s a winner!

To be honest, I’m not keen on removing makeup with regular cotton pads anyway, and since I have brought cleaning oils to my routine, I barely use them.

But I do like using these bamboo pads to some steps of my morning and night skincare routine, such as applying toner. Then it’s when these bamboo cotton pads are quite handy.

What is a bamboo cotton pad?

These are products made of organic bamboo cotton, 100% biodegradable and compostable. This is a far better alternative to plastic handles, which take over 500 years to decompose. They are washable, made with no harmful substances and suitable for any types of skin.

How was my experience so far?

I love them. From the whole concept of being packed in a beautiful wooden box to the soft material that doesn’t hurt sensitive skins like mine. EcoPanda bamboo cotton pads is already a hit!

There are 18 pieces of cotton pads and a practical laundry bag that makes the things easier when washing them. They are resistant, hygienic, gentle to the skin, and absorb the product quite well.

I have taken some of them to my last holiday trip as well and it made my packaging more practical and lighter instead of taking a big plastic bag full of cotton pads. They dry fast and it’s easy to clean it as well.

However, I have read some other review where some people had problems to remove mascara stains and other makeup products when washing them.

To start with, if it’s a sustainable product, you shouldn’t be washing it on high temperature anyway. It’s better to stick to the idea that some mascaras are waterproof and the pads will not be complete white after several washes.

But I guess it’s important as well to follow some steps to make this task easier.

  • Give a pad a quick wash tight after using it with a bar soap and warm water;
  • Avoid drying them in tumble dryer; especially in higher temperatures. It can cause shrinkage in the fabric;
  • Don’t use fabric conditioners, stain removers or bleach on it. It’s always better go for a natural solution such as mixing white vinegar and essential oils.
  • Sock them on warm water before putting on the washing machine. It will help to clean the harder stains.

Conclusion:

I do like these bamboo cotton pads and it’s probably a product that I will keep with them until starting fade away, to be honest. It’s a perfect product to travel with, it’s easy to clean and it’s sustainable. I’m glad to be introduced to such a quality product and I would recommend using EcoPanda cotton pads.

I received this product complimentary from EcoPanda for testing purposes.

  1. These sound good. I currently just use a washcloth for removing my makeup as I don’t wear it very often but it’s quite rough on my skin. These sound like they would be more suitable as I think I need something quite gentle.

  2. Love this and I’m actually waiting for mine right now so great to know what you think of them!
