Here’s one of my dreams – having a as much as possible plastic free kitchen someday. It’s a tough one, I know. But we can only do our best and be part of the solution.
Not only stop using plastic products, but we also demanding that companies stop producing them.
As you can see, there is no more margin for errors – We do need to reduce waste. I’m always inspired by a greener house advice- such as 104 ways to help you reduce plastic at your home. And I can honestly say that choosing better your kitchen products is the first step to tackle waste.
There are only two months until the end of this year, but I’m glad to say I did lots of changes at my home, concerning to follow a more sustainable lifestyle. The good news is you also can make it happens.
So, why not getting the work done on our kitchen too? After all, it’s over there we will find most of the plastic utensils, like tapware and food packaging, at our home.
One of the biggest changes in my kitchen was the reduction of plastic bottles using my soda maker. As some of you may know, I’m addicted to sparkling water and it always was a nightmare looking at the pile of plastic bottles I used to have to be recycled.
Now, I barely have them. Like we know, recycling shouldn’t be the first option. Reducing and reusing should be always priority!
Go nuts with Bamboo products
I love bamboo products and we’re lucky enough to have plenty of businesses investing in kitchenware made of bamboos. It’s a heaven! You can have from cutlery to bowls and chopping boards.
They’re saving my life! Not to mention that bamboo products are not trendy. They’re in the market for years. We just need to reinvent it!
That’s the easiest decision you can take when thinking about a greener kitchen. There are plenty of natural recipes for cleaning products to be followed. But if you don’t have time, there is always an Eco-friendlier washing up liquid to be chosen from.
