The city of Carlsbad is located in beautiful northern San Diego County. This popular tourist destination is about 30 minutes from San Diego and home to a picturesque coastline.

There is so much to do while you vacation at resorts in Carlsbad,CA whether you’re into nature, art, history or plain old relaxing. Here are 8 awesome things to do in Carlsbad to help you create the trip of a lifetime.

1. LEGOLAND California

It’s a theme park centred around one of the most recognised toys in the world that the entire family can enjoy. LEGOLAND California has more than 60 rides, shows and attractions. There’s even a water park.

2. Sea Life Aquarium

Although this aquarium is adjacent to LEGOLAND, it is separate. It is designed to be an introduction to sea exploration and animals, and it offers hands-on learning for children.

The Sea at Night exhibit showcases bio-luminescent tides and the Interactive Touch-pool exhibit lets guests get up close and personal with creatures like urchins and sea stars.

3. Witch Creek Winery

Although Witch Creek doesn’t grow grapes here, it offers visitors wine tastings, tasty cheese plates and live music. Add Witch Creek Winery to your wine tour or try it singularly.

4. New Village Arts Theatre

If you’re into the arts, NVA is a great place to go. It is home to both visual and performing artists.

The plays seek to entertain, educate and inspire deeper thought. The plays are created by and performed by professional artists, and there is also a gallery that is home to a variety of unique artists.

5. Museum of Making Music (NAMM)

This museum is a division of the National Association of Music Merchants, and it looks at the achievements and the influence instruments and music products have had on the music industry and musicians.

The museum offers live performances, educational experiences and unique exhibits to promote the understanding of music-making.

6. Carlsbad Coastline Tour

This tour of a portion of California’s coastline offers plenty of unobstructed ocean views. You’ll ride an electric bike along the picturesque 101 down to Beacon’s Beach before returning to your point of origin.

The best part is that you don’t have to be a professional rider. If you’re a beginner, you can get a lesson before venturing out.

7. K1 Speed

This indoor go-kart facility is great for racers of just about any age, amateur or enthusiast. It’s a great introduction to motor-sport and just might become a favourite activity for your family or friends.

There are professionally designed race tracks, plenty of sports memorabilia, large flat-screen TVs and snack bars.

8. The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch

Nature lovers will thoroughly enjoy Carlsbad Ranch. There are nearly 50 acres of giant tecolote ranunculus flowers there and about 5 acres of other speciality flowers.

The flowers are in bloom from March to early May in a stunning burst of colour. There are also benches and picnic tables available.

Whether you’re visiting Carlsbad or a nearby town or city, this city with its beachy vibe and small-town feel has plenty of fun to offer people of all ages and interests. It’s a thriving coastal city with great people, food, wine, history and fun. You’ve got to check it out.
