We’re all very familiar to the knock, knock sound of a door knocker. Whether it’s the postman with that dress you might have ordered in the sales last minute (no judging!) or your friends coming to visit or the worse knock, knock of them all – door to door salesmen trying to sell you that really good product that you don’t really need (but I won’t go there today).

Let’s not get off track here. Door knockers are not only functional but highly ornamental, they are the perfect way to accessorise your front door whilst showing off a bit of your own style and personality.
Door knockers are also very important to give a first great impression of your home to your guests. It may be a bit difficult to fit sometimes, but you can always count on a local locksmith to help you out in case of emergency.

Ironmongery Experts, an architectural ironmongery business, has written an article on their blog about types of door knockers found in homes all across Britain, so if you are interested in these little door details, head over there.
Looking for inspiration or maybe you have never thought of door knockers as an accessory? Well… look at these door knockers found around the world and think again!
