5 Ways to Redecorate the Kitchen During Lockdown

Lockdown is the perfect time to redecorate your kitchen as it will give you a fun, creative project to work on while you have to spend most of your time in the house.

The kitchen is the heart of the home and redecorating this space could help you to create a lovely space where you can cook up meals for friends and family when the lockdown ends.

Here are a few ideas for ways that you can redecorate your kitchen to breathe new life into the space.

  1. Paint the Cabinets

One of the cheapest, easiest and most effective ways to revitalise the kitchen is simply to paint the cabinets a new colour. This is similar to painting the walls in a room in that it completely changes the look and feel of the room, especially if you opt for lighter colours which can make the space look and feel bigger and brighter.

  1. Change the Lighting

Lighting is a crucial element of interior design as it can establish mood and atmosphere, so changing the lighting in your kitchen can completely transform the space. It is important that you still have bright lighting so that you can see what you are doing, but experimenting with accent and ambient lighting can make a big difference.

  1. Seating

If you have the space, having seating for a social area can make a huge difference to your kitchen especially if you like to host. You can find stylish and comfortable stools from places like Cox & Cox so that you can socialise, relax and enjoy a drink while you cook.

  1. Floating Shelves

It is always helpful to have more storage space in the kitchen so floating shelves attached to the walls can be handy for storage and easy access, plus this can also add visual appeal and colour to the kitchen. This is also an update which is affordable, easy to do yourself and can change the look and feel of the space.

  1. Plants

A cheap, easy and effective way to improve the kitchen is simply with the addition of plants. These are proven to have mental health benefits and can bring colour and life to the kitchen, plus you could use herbs which can improve the look of the kitchen while also being useful whilst cooking.

Now is a great time to redecorate the kitchen and hopefully this will give you a few ideas for ways to improve the space. Once the lockdown has ended, you can then invite over your loved ones to cook up a feast and enjoy one another’s company.
