I always loved the concept behind fair-trade and sustainable toys. They are usually creative, durable, and of course, they do not hurt the planet. It is not a secret that kids love soft toys. They are perfect for the development of children because it stimulates their creativity and their imagination.
Weaving Hope Fair Trade Toys
I am quite chuffed with the opportunity of working together with Weaving Hope and offer this gorgeous Fair-Trade Picnic Set Basket at a giveaway here.
Weaving Hope was founded in 2009 by Nicky Hope, a Stourbridge mum who had taken her young children out of school to travel the world, a trip that included four months in Sri Lanka.
Then, she came across the eye-catching toys and bags made by local women artisans, working within a Guaranteed Member of the World Fair Trade Organisation.
This provided the women and their families with paid employment alongside the opportunity to maintain the skilled crafts of handweaving and sewing, giving them income for now and hope for the future – to call the business “Weaving Hope” seemed obvious after that conversation!
