Pop Culture Wall Art | Posterlounge Review + Giveaway

I am obsessed with wall art and décor. But I just invest in pieces that are quite personal for me. It has to be related to being.  After all, our home is an extension of yourselves. As we are planning to move next year, I did not want to start any major home project.

Even though, I think it is time to give some colours to the room. Luckily for us, Posterlounge has invited me to review some of their amazing wall pictures, posters and art prints to help me out at this task.

What is Posterlounge?

A German company founded in 2003 with the motto of providing art for all walls of our home. They have a huge selection of wall pictures and art prints with over 100,000 decorative images and designs. Everything for a quite affordable price and ship within Europe.

Posterlounge collaborates with over 10,000 artists and photographers to cater to every type of tastes. From classic to art nouveau to contemporary art- you name it, they will have it.

How does it work?

Despite its huge collection, it’s quite simple to navigate on the website and chose frames, poster material, canvas prints and measurements for your wall arts.

You can search for the name of the artists, or simply getting some inspiration from themes, and even the gift ideas. I think I spent more time choosing my prints because I was overwhelmed by their collection.

What did we Pick?

I knew I wanted to choose different types of frames, sizes and paper materials. But I also knew what kind of art I was looking for. But I didn’t want something too obvious like Banksy, or pictures of New York. I already have these on my wall.

Spare Room |Canva prints and Wall calendars

So, here are my picks! To start with, I was totally in love with the wall calendars. They are simply the most beautiful ones I ever have seen. So, I have picked the Japanese Printmakers.

It’s timeless, elegant and minimalist. Perfect to put me in the mood for 2021. Who is not counting the days for it, anyway?

I have turned the spare room into an office in2017 when I have started to work from home. But I do confess I have never given it any upgrade since then. That was when I have thought about picking some wall art related to my favourite things in life – music, films and travelling.

I have picked canvas prints of a ghetto blaster and the percussion instruments – both printed behind the acrylic glass panel. They complement the fun and modern mood that I wanted to give to my workspace.

I have also chosen two pieces with my favourite Studio Ghibli’s characters – a wood print of Kiki’s Delivery Service and the foam board print of My Neighbour Totoro.

I just love the quality of the hangers in both pieces. It gives a nice touch to the prints and they can both be used as a decorative piece on my bookshelf as well.

My husband also wanted to give his personal touch to his “office”. We keep his computer in our bedroom and it’s a perfect place for him relax checking football pundits, skyscrapers and it’s also where he studies code.

I knew his piece would be something geek, and I was quite pleased to see he had picked a gorgeous picture frame of Space station of Space Shuttle Atlantis. It just suits him so well.

Lounge | Premium Poster

I’m not going to lie. This was my first search on Posterlounge’s website. I am a huge fan of Wes Anderson’s films. And I knew I would find some wall art about it. But I wasn’t expecting to find the most amazing premium poster on my favourite film of a lifetime – The Royal Tenenbaums.

I have visited this house in Harlem, New York. But I just couldn’t believe my eyes such a special piece. Now it’s placed next to another special picture frame in my living room.

It was my best pick and another iconic Pop Culture icon to remind me of this special moment forever. Yes, I always wanted to be a Tenenbaum.

I also wanted to have some premium posters to check their quality before being framed. I love vintage posters, As I work as a journalist and teacher, I wanted to have some references at home. The  Typewriter ‘Valentine’ by Olivetti and Limits of My language posters are made with quality material and they will be a good match for the kitchen. What do you think?
