My skincare routine has been updated every time I finish a new product. I guess it is important to have your favourite skincare essentials for a day and night routine.
However, I honestly believe that we all should look for new products that can make your skin healthier – especially when you are over 35 and your skin starts to mature quickly.
Honestly, I have noticed a huge improvement in my skin hydration and care since I started caring about my skincare routine. And it is not a secret to anyone that my sensitive skin changed completely after having a serious skincare routine using Japanese and Korean products.
I just would like to add the fact I am not making any propaganda for those products. It makes me angry to see people holding some creams n their timeline just for the sake of some likes.
So, yep, I do use Hada Labo products for quite a while now, and I do prefer to buy my skincare because my skin is quite sensitive, and it would be a terrible mistake to use lots of different brands just for the sake of a review.
I started using both – the Anti-Aging Super Hydrator Lotion and Wrinkle Reducer Day Cream in November last year. But I have purchased them some months before because I was quite excited about the fact that Superdrug now sells some Hada Labo products. There are eight products available now, but I am starting to try these two first.
If you are familiar with Korean and Japanese beauty, you know that it is quite difficult sometimes to find them in the UK – I only buy them online. And sometimes, I do purchase them straight from Korea or Japan. Why? it is worth it.
Besides, I imagine these products are not available here because of EU regulations that are different from the Japanese ones when it comes to skincare products.

Why are you testing these products?
Here are the two reasons that made me go for these two products this time. Firstly, I am embracing anti-agers now for obvious reasons. And those two products are boosted with retinol and collagen. Perfect for mature skins. Plus, I am quite obsessed with products boosted with the miracle substance called Hyaluronic acid.
Plus, Hada Labo Tokyo is Japan’s top-selling skincare brand, and I just love it. The brand’s recent research has found that six out of ten women over 35 want their skin to look the best it can at each stage of life, while only one in five want to turn back the clock to look younger than they really are.
That is not my case. I just want to have healthier, more hydrated skin with a lot of glow now. After all, I am nearly mid-40s. Scary! But I can also guarantee my skin is looking better than when I was in my mid 30’s.
How is your skincare routine at this moment?
I will be honest. I have changed my skincare routine steps to a more simplified one just because of this review. Feel free to check my favourite skincare essentials here to see the products I usually choose and use on daily basis. It’s important to remember that I sometimes swap products, according to my skin conditions. But I am trying to finish all products that I have in my hands before buying new ones – as you can see in this post.:)
I usually have a double cleanse during the night – usually a DHC oil or Banilla Co balm, in combination with the CORSX Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser. Then, I am using the Tea Tree toner by the Body Shop – which is a quite affordable toner, and one of my favourites too.
But I am currently waiting for my second bottle of Aloe BHA toner – by Benton – to be delivered. It is the one that adapted better to my type of skin. Fingers crossed! As you know, I usually buy it from sites abroad, and sometimes it takes ages to arrive. This is my favourite toner of life – nothing can’t beat a good combination of Aloe and BHA for highly sensitive skin like mine. These two ingredients combined are miraculous to me.
Do not get me wrong. You can find some of these products on Amazon. But the prices can be a bit salty sometimes, so I do prefer to wait longer.
In the morning, the toner, Missha’s Essence sunscreen, then I just use both Anti-Aging Super Hydrator Lotion and Wrinkle Reducer Day Cream by Hada Labo. I have been repeating this routine since last November and I will continue it until finish both products.
So, here are my words on both products after almost three months of use.
Anti-Aging Super Hydrator Lotion
This fragrance-free lotion might look clear and almost watery – but it is a powerhouse of hydration with no fewer than four types of hyaluronic acid, plus collagen and retinol. Use it after cleansing and before your usual moisturiser.
When I first used it, I thought it would be like my favourite one – Gokujyun Hyaluronic Moisture Lotion. I think the texture is different and the effect on my skin is also different. As well as the type of hydration. I will give my first spoiler here – I do prefer the Gokujyun one because it is the original Japanese version. Simple as that.
This lotion and all the anti-ageing range contains four HAs as well as collagen and retinol. Use it morning and evening after cleansing the face
But the super hydrator lotion provides what it says – bigger hydration. And that is the reason I don`t need to have a big skincare step when I use this one. It is not sticky and does not dry out the skin. It gives a super glow to the skin too.
Anti-Aging Wrinkle Reducer Day Cream
When we get older, we need more intense hydration. That is a great gel cream to be used during the day. A bit sticky, like you, would predict from a gel cream. I like its consistency and subtle aroma which is said to be a fragrance-free product.
I have been using this one also in the mornings and evenings. Because Its combination of ingredients and 4 different sizes of Hyaluronic Acid provides a deep and intense moisturising effect. But you can also opt for the night cream from this range that is quite popular here now.
Is it worth the hype?
Well, as a huge Hada Labo fan, I would say yes because we should be celebrating the fact, that we finally have a range of these products in the UK. I love the lotion; I think it is a perfect addition to the collection of light lotions that I normally use on my skin. I would usually keep using both products while I work from home.
But again, I still prefer the Japanese formula when it comes to lotions. For some reason, it works better on my sensitive skin. The wrinkle reducer did not reach the spot yet, but I guess it is because I have applied it in low layers. I understand that I probably would see a better reduction when I finish both products.
I think it is feeling a bit heavy sometimes and I usually apply less than I should be using, Maybe? But as you can see from my photos, I am nearly finishing this one too. The glowy skin is impeccable, but I still looking for a better result when it comes to wrinkles. Maybe I need to understand how collagen works on my skin diet.
Do I love it? Yes. I do. Would I buy this range again? Yes, for sure. They are quality products with the finest ingredients in the market. Plus, Hada Labo is the expert brand in Hyaluronic Acid. I can’t wait to try the Cleanser All In One and the Night Cream next.
