3 Easy Eco-friendly Cleaning Steps | Raindrop Starter Kit

Cleaning products – I have been in a relation of love and hate with them since ever. There are a lot of them available in the shelves of your local supermarket. Affordable ones, more expensive brands, and the same problem – plastic bottles. Everywhere. Even the so-called sustainable brands use plastic on it.

Do not get me wrong. I do get the idea of refillable bottles. I just do not need more options. I need a singular lasting solution to go for. Luckily for me, I have been introduced to Raindrop Starter Kit this month. Would it be the ultimate eco-friendly solution to switch for? Let’s check it out now!

What is Raindrop clean?

Raindrop is a new way of cleaning with the idea of providing affordable plastic-free sustainability. It has been designed to look great and work in a quite simple way. You can start your full experience with a plastic-free cleaning starter kit.

What is inside?

It comes with 3x frosted amber glass bottles built for life and 3x500ml of plastic-free cleaning drops for use in the kitchen, bathroom, and surfaces. Its leaning formula is non-toxic, cruelty-free & vegan friendly. Not to mention that 10% of our profits go to charitable causes too. This starter kit is delivered to your doorstep.

How it works?

For those who like practical methods of cleaning, here is something you will love about Raindrop – it has quite simple three steps to use it.

Step 1 – Pop a cleaning drop in one of our amber glass bottles (500ml) and fill it with water.

Step 2 – Put the lid on and shake it like a polaroid picture for 20 seconds.

Step 3 – Spray and clean while feeling green.

There is no secret here. The cleaning drops match the colours of the glass bottles. It is quite impossible to get it wrong. So, here it is my honest review of these easy cleaning steps.

Kitchen

I have a large kitchen surface in my flat, and I quite love it. My husband and I just love cooking and we usually do it every day. I try to keep on top of it as much as possible, which means – cleaning it every (ish) night before going to bed.

I know, a bit crazy! But I just love to wake up and find my kitchen tidy and ready to be functional again. But during the weekend the kitchen, as you should expect, it can get a bit messy.

This way, I have been using way too much cleaning products throughout the year. Especially now during the quarantine when you eat at home all the time. Too many cleaning products means only one thing – too much plastic bottles to dispose of. Not a quite good match for me. Plus, did you know that some studies suggest the use of cleaning products can provoke and increase indoor air pollution? It’s quite mad.

With the cleaning drops and this reusable bottle, I can change my game. I quite like the design of this amber glass bottle which is made of 50% recycled glass. It is sturdy, durable and it looks pretty good too.

I am not a big fan of fragrances, but I quite like the natural aromas of the cleaning drops. At the first use, I would not say that grapefruit is my favourite one. But I am pleased with the result of the long-lasting fragrance here. It removes all grease from my kitchen surfaces, and I am pleased with the natural look of it. As you can see in the photo above, the grease has gone in one single spray of it.

Bathroom

Here is my favourite one. Besides, the process of cleaning being pretty much the same for these three steps cleaning, I have been falling hard for this one. Firstly, its lemon scent is the smell that I would like to find in a bathroom. Any bathroom. Lemon or anything citric scent go always well for me.

I quite like this product not only for its fragrance, but the cleaning results in my bathtub and sink were quite pleasing. As we do not have windows in my bathroom, the ventilation and natural light are quite scarce on it. As you can imagine, it makes it difficult to get rid of the limescale sometimes.

I have used this product to clean up daily stains and dirt from my bathroom, and I can see some effective result.

Multi Purposes

Is it just me or you also think that it is quite challenging to keep tables, windowsills, hard surfaces in general clean and tidy? I have a way to the fluffy cat. He sits everywhere, leaving stains behind, you know.

One of my main concerns with standard cleaning products is about the chemicals used on them, of course. For me, it is fundamental to have non-toxic and no harmful chemicals used products around for obvious reasons. The lavender fragrance is quite subtle, and it leaves surfaces not only smearer but also spotless. I quite like this one too.

Conclusion

I would recommend this starter kit to anyone looking for an effective and practical eco-friendly alternative for cleaning products in general. It is vegan, biodegradable, cruelty-free and plastic-free. The cleaning drop refills are quite affordable, and you will have 95% of your household cleaning product out of your tap, anyways. It is just about water and non-toxic chemicals in this package.
