How to Attract More Birds to your Garden

I have always been fascinated by the stories my auntie kate talks about the birds that visit her garden. It is always great to hear that the same birds usually visit her, and she gave names to them. They are always welcome, and I believe they became part of the family.

And I presume that everyone with a garden in this country has special tricks and treats to attract different species of birds to their property.

After all, if you like to be close to nature, birds are very welcome in the backyard. They pollinate the flowers, sing all day long, and further beautify the garden landscape. If you want to attract birds, check out these tips on what you can do.

Feeding Station and Bird Baths

Birds will be attracted to your garden if you offer them food and water. To do this, hang feeders with different seeds around the garden, and bird baths with water. Having a feeding station in your garden will make all difference to the birds who visit it frequently

Choose seeds that birds like to eat, such as millet, and sunflower, and don’t forget to buy bird seed, which you can be found easily online.

In addition to seeds, you can also offer sweet and soft fruits, such as bananas, melons, and bananas.

You should create a natural habitat for birds, with part of what they already consume in nature.

Build a Nest

I know it looks a little over the top, but the truth is that building nest is a quite good way of attracting birds to your garden. Birds build their nests by themselves to have a place to take refuge and rest.

But, in big cities, it is more difficult for them to find the raw material for construction and a safe place.

You can build artificial nests in your backyard for birds to adopt as their home. If you don’t know how to do it, you can also buy ready-made nests and houses.

The birds themselves oversee decorating and making the space more comfortable.

Have a Sand Pool

That’s a quite new thing to me, but I heard that birds like to take sand baths regularly and eat some grains to help clean their organism. Isn’t cool?

So, if you have no problem spreading some sand in your garden, you can offer some clean sand in your backyard, which should be left in the sun and turned over from time to time.

Avoid Pesticides

I don’t think I should remind you about this, but avoiding pesticides makes a huge difference to plants, animals, and nature itself.

It’s important to have a healthy environment for you as well. Remember, too, that if you want beautiful, healthy birds on your plants, you can’t poison them. Keep your garden healthy by only using natural products for maintenance.

Keep your Garden Organised

Birds fly from one green area to another. They look for a nice environment to spend some time in. Therefore, more than food and water, you need to keep your garden well-kept, with plenty of greenery and flowers, creating an attractive and aromatic environment for animals to feel at ease.

In addition to choosing beautiful and fragrant plants, you can also choose species with fruits for the birds to eat. This way, during the fruiting season, you won’t even need to keep filling the feeders.

You can plant different fruits such as grapes, blackberries, oranges, apples, and raisins, for example. They will be quite happy with your special treats.
