Yes, intimate care is here to stay. We may not be prepared to talk about it eat. But the truth is that intimate care products are an excellent present idea for every woman out there.
I do confess that I am new to the game, but I am also ready to face perimenopause. And it is quite scary. So, I guess it is time to be a bit more careful when it comes to intimate care.
As we age, not only hormonal changes and infections can alter the balance of the intimate area, but we can start to deal with vaginal dryness – a quite common intimate issue.
It is known that over 50% of menopausal women experience vaginal dryness, as well as at least 17% of premenopausal women aged 18 to 50. However, given how few women report their symptoms, it’s safe to assume the real statistics may be even higher.
For this reason, we do need to take it seriously. Female intimate care comprises a wide variety of products that go beyond those intended for hygiene, and that include specific products to counteract the symptoms associated with menopause and that improve women’s well-being.
We do need to use different types of products that adapt to different needs, such as moisturisers and creams designed to counteract vaginal dryness and specially formulated to provide a calming effect during periods when we feel discomfort or discomfort.
To understand how intimate care products work in practice, I tested Lip Intimate Care for the first time last month.
What is Lip Intimate Care?
Lip Intimate Care, a female-owned women’s hygiene brand from Sweden, is on a mission to raise awareness about vaginal dryness and educate women on how to care for their sensitive lady parts without provoking irritation or making the condition worse.
They offer a range of natural and healthy feminine hygiene products dedicated to bringing self-care to women’s most intimate parts. Using certified organic ingredients, Lip Intimate Care has created 100% natural formulations that offer gentle cleansing care within the intimate hygiene sector.
I have received a gift box with Coconut + vanilla cleansing + moisturising oil and the Macadamia + oat Lip balm to test. It comes in quite elegant and discreet packaging, and I quite like its sleek design that invites us to try out the products that look like any other toiletry product that you bring to your skincare routine.
But it is not definitely like other intimate care products in the market. Lip Intimate Care doesn’t use any foaming agents or aggressive chemicals, and it is quite an important criterion for me. After all, chemicals can cause allergic reactions that can become a bigger health problem.
Why use vegetable oils?
Vegetable oils are perfect agents to keep the natural moisturise of the skin and mucosa of your vulva. Not to mention that they are excellent ingredients to prevent vaginal dryness too.
Vaginal dryness is one of the most common intimate issues women experience at some point in their lives. However, the stigma surrounding the topic results in over 50% of affected women underreporting the condition to healthcare providers according to estimates, and less than 4% seeking treatment.
For this reason, it is important to keep your intimate care routine up to date. Remember, it doesn’t mean you need to use a lot of products.
What did I think of Lip Intimate Care Products?
I loved both products and I think it is an excellent alternative to standard soaps. I liked the moisturising oil most because it gives a natural lubrification to the vulva. Its gentle fragrance of coconut and vanilla is also a plus.
It suits everyone looking for an everyday cleanser that doesn’t strip the skin of its natural moisture. I am keeping it to my intimate care routine.
The lip balm is also a great addition to use as a preventive and to combat dryness and irritation. As a fragrance-free product, it is a perfect match for having natural lubrication during intimacy.
I would highly recommend Lip Intimate care products for every woman.
