It’s already March and Mother’s Day is coming. I know we feel pressured to find them just the best pressie that she deserves. But we’ve selected some sustainable gift ideas for you!
It is part of our culture to celebrate different dates, but in some consumerism is strongly present. Mother’s Day is one of them. However, we are all guilty of choosing something that will “help” her at home or make her life “easier”.
What about thinking about making her more beautiful and appreciated? The market for Sustainable beauty is gaining supporters in every corner of the world.
What is sustainable beauty?
Sustainable cosmetic products assume that they do not harm the environment or our bodies. Sustainable gifts are alternatives that please without generating a burden on the conscience and burden on the environment.
Companies and consumers are increasingly aware of the need for sustainability to preserve the planet. Thus, the emphasis on recycled packaging or the use of refills is successful. Conscious consumption focuses on what is necessary, without excesses, and with a mind focused on acting responsibly towards the environment.
You can always choose to buy locally to help the economy of your town, for example.
Thinking about it, I have decided to look for gift ideas that would be more sustainable for the local economy and for your pocket. You will help the planet, and at the same time, it will be something that will make her feel happy as well, of course.
Makeup Remover Pads
If she really likes make-up, then there’s certainly no shortage of different make-up products for any occasion. We are spoiled for choice when it comes to sustainable makeup.
However, it is better to check the brands properly to make sure it is not greenwashing company. there may be some reusable discs that are sure to be successful.
One of the most interesting sustainable beautifying presents is makeup remover pads. Make-up remover pads are amazing to avoid wasting resources, machine-sewn will help to avoid wasting, including waste of their plastic packaging.
It helps remove stubborn makeup using just warm water. Without causing irritation to the delicate eye area, the towels glide effortlessly over the skin without the need for a cleanser.
Soft 100% cotton fabric on one side and soft and cuddly organic bamboo cotton on the other. You won’t want to use others and you’ll be grateful for the offer!
Cosmetic is always a good gift option, isn’t it? So, how about doing something different this year and giving your mother some handmade cosmetics? There are some good options in the market for ecological cosmetic products, handmade, locally produced, with natural products.
From skincare items to makeup, you can find products that are natural, organic, vegan, cruelty-free, and free of parabens and petrolatum. Even with the packaging the brand is concerned since the composition is 100% recyclable materials.
Just think about the cosmetic product that your mom would love most and invest in it. She will be over the moon and, helping a brand that is compromised with sustainability.
Here is one of my favourite ones to introduce to my mom. The solid shampoo bars nourish the hair correctly, leaving it healthy and shiny.
They are clean and nourished in an extremely effective way, are quickly washed away, contain 94% of plant-based ingredients, are 97% biodegradable, and come in plastic-free containers.
This year, I would recommend some quite elegant fragrances such as a champagne and roses shampoo bar.
This shampoo bar contains our luxury ingredients of argan oil, cocoa butter, and Pro-Vitamin B5 will nourish even the most delicate hair and with a mild blend of cleansers, will leave your hair and scalp looking and feeling perfectly clean, soft, and healthy.
Plant-Based Nail Polish
I am not going to lie; I am totally in love with this plant based nail polish collection and I would love my mom to try them too.
Healthier and safer than conventional nail polishes, natural nail polishes are not the same thing as hypoallergenic nail polishes or organic nail polishes.
Earthy base coat is 79% natural, 83% of the total waste is recycled, and 100% of industrial wastewater is treated. All products are vegan and cruelty-free and come with a stylishly sustainable bamboo cap. The range of colours is great and the nail treatment collection is a must!
The last tip is to do something with your own hands. if you have the skins, why not make your own piece of jewellery for your mom? If you are not confident in making something so elaborative, you can improvise.
Then, it doesn’t need to be a sustainable beauty product. It can be a tasty food that can be packed in a tissue or a glass jar, such as bread, cookies, cakes, jellies, or jams. You name it.
As I quite like cooking, I would certainly have vanilla cake for my mom. She loves it and she would be quite happy with a personalised cake like this.Copyright secured by Digiprove © 2023 Simone Ribeiro
