Breakfast at the pub: With plenty of excellent pubs to choose from in Harborne, it’s a hard decision finding an ideal one to start a pub crawl in the area. But if you’re looking for something to eat, first thing in the morning, The Plough is definitely worth stopping by.
Breakfast menu in The Plough is definitely not an average one. Not even the traditional Full English is that simple. Going for a smoked salmon, scrambled egg and toast was the best option I could have. Just a winner!

One Trick Pony Club was the place I had chosen to start my New Year’s Eve celebration last year. Firstly, I love the name. Yes, silly thought but it’s a hell of a good one. And yes, I read the definition and meaning of One Trick Pony Club before writing this review and I presume it suits the place well.
Secondly, I love neon. “It’s very cheesy” some would think, but I just like how One Trick Pony Club take their neon signs seriously.For a bar located in Moseley, having a modern decor does not just help to attract young people but also gives a bit of personality to the place.Read more.

Mondays off: where to go? I would recommend having a mooching at the city centre of Birmingham. It’s particularly busy but bear with me, it’s nothing compared to the madness of weekends in the second largest city of the UK.
And if autumn is sometimes inviting us to enjoy some beautiful (and cold) sunshine days outside, it’s time to explore some really nice places around. Don’t forget to take your camera out, of course.
BrindleyPlace is a particular part of the city that needs to be explored more, If possible with your camera in hands. I like the idea of having so many different types of restaurants, bars and cafes around. Read more.

# 4 Don Diego, Sutton Coldfield [closed]
Genuine Spanish tapas experience: I’ve been to some tapas restaurants around Birmingham before but Don Diego is probably the most authentic Spanish one in town. It’s actually located in Sutton Coldfield, northeast of the city. More or less 25 minutes (by car) from the city centre. Read more.

Enjoying the best of both sides would be a nice way of starting to describe Pure Bar & Kitchen .The brand new bar in Colmore District is definitely a success.I have visited the place in the first weekend of its opening and it was nearly impossible to find a seat or a space. # 6 Alfie Birds, Digbeth [closed]
Probably one of the busiest establishments to have opened in Birmingham this year, Alfie Bird’s works as a restaurant, bar and music venue in a very clever way. That explains why any time you visit Custard Factory, it’s expected to see loads of people in (and around) Alfie Birds.
The secret of its success is behind the creative minds of Damien Fell and Andrew Purvis who came up with the idea of revitalising the space, bringing the gourmet eats & beats concept to the heart of Digbeth. Read more.

Jewerelly Quarter cocktail temple: With its peculiar roof terrace as new attraction to the visitors, The Church Inn is definitely one of the most attractive pubs in the Jewellery Quarter area.
This centenary building had been under some refurbishment and has now become a very pleasant and spacious bar. It is impossible not to admire the decor, which is influenced by theNew Orleans French Quarter. I particularly fell in love with the aluminium red ceiling lights and the retro American diner seating booths. Read more.

Marmalade is a fresh new bistro at The Rep Theatre, in the city centre. But don’t think it’s just a place to be visited before or after enjoying a show.
The first time I went to Marmalade was for a quickie visit with a friend for a nice cup of latte. From the seats we chose that day, I could see the staff in the bar keeping the cocktails flowing. Read more.

Spanish tapas, always a good deal! Even if I haven’t planned to visit Rico Libre by the end of 2014. It just happened when I was in the Digbeth – on one of those Sundays afternoon looking for some new street art in the area.
And as it was very cold, the client Spanish food seemed to be a good option for my husband and I. I had not booked a table for that day, but we were so well welcomed at Rico Libre that I really felt like I was invited to someone else’s house for supper. Read more.

I usually get my 5-a-day quite easily during the week, but if I decide to go out for a treat, red meat is at the top of the list. It probably is related to my South American roots that I am very fond of a nice barbecue.
Brazil has a great reputation for barbecues, but I have to confess that our neighbours in Argentina just do it better. If you have never tried an authentic Argentinean asado, please put it on your bucket list now. Read more.

I went to Digbeth on a cold Saturday afternoon, looking for a place to grab a bite and catch up with some friends. The Mockingbird was the place of my choice this time.
The theatre and bar is an excellent adding to Digbeth. It is also a perfect spot to watch a cult or classic film, enjoy a comedy night or a musical. Definitely a creative venue that fits perfectly at the Custard Factory. Read more.
